Hi
I begin to hate internet!!!
now I want to tell you, my friends, what happened to me yesterday.
Last week I bought, from a ragdolls site, 3 wonderful e-patterns. all was good and proceeded well: service was so fast and nice, all perfect!!
Yesterday I tried again to buy some other e-patterns, but something in the site wasn't ok: I was not able to select Italy as country, so I wrote to the patterns seller. She fastly answered me that she could verify and after few minutes she wrote I can't purchase her patterns anymore!!
I was surprised and disappointed, immediately I ask her the reason. this was her answer:
"My pattern policy states that the patterns cannot be exchanged, traded or shared. "
more and more surprised I wrote again asking why was she saying this things and how could she demonstrate this. I have not violed her pattern copyright, and all I can do if she doesn't sell me her pattern is to safe some of her images and reproduce them in making dolls FOR ME!!!!. please note images on her site are free: everyone, looking at this site, can copy and save the pictures, they are no protected in any way!
The major part of you knows that I design tatting patterns, animals patterns, beads animals patterns, but I love dolls and collect them. when I sew dolls they are for me, for my collection: have you ever seen my pictures of my dolls? no 'cause they are for me, I show them to my friends, but knowing the patterns are from other people I don't put them in internet...
I post tatting pictures only for the challenge specifing clearly the author!!
My photos are free, everyone can copy and save them. what is the problem? when I don't want that other people have them I choose copyright option, and noone can save them. Saving an image is so different from violing the copyrights!!!!!!
this lady, knowing nothing about it, answered so:
"And I will save this email where you state you will copy the pictures of the dolls and animals from my site. This is exactly the type of thing I was referring to.. Why did you say you live in Italy when your order form says Chile?
The problem is why do you want to copy someone else's ideas? Do you know what being "original" is? If you copy my photos and look at them to make patterns, you are not a designer, you are an imitator. This is not good, why would you want to do that? You cannot come up with your own ideas? You must copy mine? What a shame, I am so glad I didn't sell you any more patterns. The Chile address was on all of the orders you tried to place today. I will not respond to any more of your emails, if you want to be just a copy cat and try to take my ideas and claim them for your own as you have stated that is up to you, no reward of the knowledge that you designed the doll yourself? Anyone can be a copy cat, but what can you do on your own?"
Would I live in Chile???????????????????????
then as I wrote, what is the problem if I copy her images?: they are free!!many people has saved my tatting photos, but I don't accuse them to stole the patterns if I am not sure.
how can she accuse me for violing copyrights only "referring" to something she is not sure. or if she is so sure, why doesn't she help me to find the nogood person who using my name in Chile is doing nolegal things with her patters? I asked this help, but nothing...
I wrote her my home phone number so she can verify it: it is Italian. I have the last billing where it was written Italy. I gave her my Italian address.
But she offended me calling me "copycat" and "imitator", she didn't gave me any helps to understand how find the person who is using my name to do illegal things with her patterns.
I gave her patterns back deleting them from my pc, it doesn't matter if I lost my money. I am honest and althought I have done nothing to violed her patters policy, this , for me, was a good way to demonstrate my innocence. But she doesn't answer my messages, and surely she will not believe to me =(
I promise to send her my patterns free, instead selling them. I gave her this blog address.
It is the 1st time I have this problem, now I will contact Hotmail services to notify the problems
I am so displeased that this lady lost her trust in me. My rag dolls collection will not have her wonderful dolls in it....
sad sad sad and angry.
has someone had similar experience? can someone of you help me?
Chiara =(
on etsy I have found some sellers who sells rag dolls done using these patterns I wrote. Are they violing copyrights? I think they are not, I know I can sell my handmade products, but not resell the patterns. Why this lady doesn't wrote also to these Etsy sellers? but she is angry with me!! I am not able to understand=(

I am so sorry to read this! There are some strange people in the WORLD....and you found HER!!! Thank you for sharing this. We need to know whom NOT to deal with in the future. You are such a dear person. Forget this individual, and be the kind and sweet one that you are!!
Some people get really wigged out about their patterns. When people get upset for our making their patterns for personal use I wonder why on earth do they publish or sell them at all? If they never want anyone to make them for themselves or give as a gift to a friend then they need to keep their patterns private. I know it is so hard when someone is unkind and unreasonable. She is accusing you of something you haven't said you would even do!
(((Hugs)))! All you can do is find someone else to buy from and find out their feelings on it. Unfortunately there are more people like this person out there.
It's sad this person has this kind of attitude. Doesn't she realize that "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?" It's to bad she acted insulted instead of complimented at your desire to ad some of her style work to your collection.
Dear Chiara, I was once accused by a lady to have stolen "her ideas". I know from an'other who hase closed her blog for years to avoid this. For my own, when I see some of my patterns worked by you or others, I'm so happy and I look often at the works to renew my happiness about the fact, that there are people who like my patterns. Thank you for giving me this happiness!
